The women who grace the red carpet are always making headlines with their style. With couture clothing and an army of stylists behind them, gorgeous celebs take risks with every outfit they wear, turning heads with everything from gauzy, flowing gowns at the Met Gala to tight, figure-hugging dresses on awards show red carpets or premiere nights.
These are some of their most stunning ensembles.
Megan Fox

From Jennifer’s Body to the Transformers series, actress and model Megan Fox is well-known for her sultry looks and stunning figure. Fox further brought the heat in this fiery red gown at the 2021 Met Gala, with a high slit up the side and laced-up details on her waist and chest.
Kim Kardashian

Model and socialite Kim Kardashian is no stranger to showing off her curves, and this skintight outfit at the 2019 Met Gala was no exception. The ensemble had an added touch of allure with the crystal waterdrop details, making the reality TV star look like she just stepped out of the shower and onto the runway.
Heidi Klum

Model and Project Runway producer, Heidi Klum, has shown off her body many times, from the cover of Sports Illustrated to her time as a Victoria’s Secret Angel. This particular look from the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards was especially stunning, with lacey gold embroidery stitched in all the right places.
Miley Cyrus

If you needed proof that the former Disney Channel star is all grown up, look no further than this dress Cyrus wore to the 2014 amfAR Inspiration Gala. It’s unclear if the singer and actress’ strappy bodice was supposed to be suspenders or a combination of seatbelts, but either way, it doesn’t look like it was very comfortable.
Rihanna

At the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards, singer Rihanna stunned all in this sheer and sparkling fitted gown. The added details of the fluffy boa wrap and the sheer cap and gloves simply added to the glitz, glamor, and flirtatiousness, overall giving the singer a gorgeous Roaring Twenties look.
Dakota Johnson

As the leading lady in the Fifty Shades franchise, actress and model Dakota Johnson is no stranger to bold and beautiful attire. At the premiere of her film The Lost Daughter at the 2021 New York Film Festival, she donned this flirty lace corset and leather pants paired with a simple diamond necklace.
Sofía Vergara

Best known for her role as Gloria on Modern Family, actress Sofía Vergara perfectly balanced her knockout beauty with several elegant details in this daring gown she wore to the 2016 Emmys. In addition to the clothespin-like sections on Vergara’s torso, her sparkling cascading earrings and a vine-like ring and wrist wrap added to the allure.
Gemma Chan

Eternals and Crazy Rich Asians star Gemma Chan left everyone awe-struck at the Eternals UK Premiere in 2021. We don’t know which detail we love most: the hood, the see-through skirt, the long sleeve crop top, or the crescent moon belt. The whole look is gorgeous, especially with the varying white, black, and silver crystals that give the actress’ outfit an otherworldly beauty.
Jennifer Lawrence

Hunger Games and X-Men actress Jennifer Lawrence turned heads in 2017 at the UK premiere of her film, Mother! The tight, lacey dress definitely had a flirty Roaring Twenties flapper vibe to it, though if Lawrence wanted to wear this gown to a costume party instead of on the red carpet, we’d recommend just a bit more fringe and a feathery headband.
Kendall Jenner

Kim isn’t the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan to show a little (or a lot!) of skin. Kendall Jenner wore this backless halter dress with waist-high slits on both sides to the 2019 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. While beautiful, we can’t help but wonder if the model and media personality was at all cold in the ensemble? The Oscars are usually held in February, after all, even if they are in California.
Florence Pugh

At the 2021 Black Widow premiere in London, actress Florence Pugh (also known for her roles in Little Women and Midsommar) was a showstopper in this loosely corseted halter top and pencil skirt. We love the additional details of Pugh’s pink-tipped hair, bright eyeshadow, and how the decorative laces of the blouse are almost as sparkly as Pugh’s necklace.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas

From her TV series Quantico to recent films Baywatch and Isn’t It Romantic, actress and model Priyanka Chopra Jonas (wife to Nick Jonas) has come a long way from her Bollywood beginnings. Pictured here at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards in LA, Chopra is stunning in a crystal-lined gown with a low neckline and high side slit, tied together with a dramatic gold belt and matching heels.
Jessica Chastain

As one of Hollywood’s favorite redheads, actress Jessica Chastain brought the heat at the 2021 San Sebastian Film Festival in San Sebastian, Spain. Attending the premiere of her film The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Chastain (whose other roles include The Help, Molly’s Game, and Interstellar) wore this elegant yet playful backless black gown with rhinestone edging and a high side slit.
Gabrielle Union

Dwyane Wade may no longer play for the Miami Heat, but his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, sure spiced things up at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Best known for films such as Bring It On, Think Like a Man, and 10 Things I Hate About You, Union was sizzling in this black and blue number that showed off quite a bit of skin on her left side.
Margot Robbie

From her sultry role in The Wolf of Wall Street to playing Harley Quinn in the Suicide Squad films, Australian actress Margo Robbie has been one of Hollywood’s favorite blonde bombshells for the past decade. This black, backless dress Robbie wore to the 2016 New York premiere of her film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a perfect blend of elegant and flirty.
Dua Lipa

Singer and model Dua Lipa (known for hits such as New Rules, Don’t Start Now, and Levitating) left us swooning at the 2021 iHeartRaido Music Festival in Las Vegas. The Grammy winner wore a lacey white bodysuit wrapped in a gauzy blue skirt, but our favorite details are her bejeweled eye makeup and playfully mismatched earrings.
Maggie Q

From the Divergent film franchise to TV series like Nikita and Designated Survivor, actress Maggie Q has an onscreen reputation for being a badass. Q furthered that notion offscreen at the 2015 New York premiere of her film The Divergent Series: Insurgent. The best detail about this long black gown has to be the sheer lace paneling, which gives the illusion of Q’s arms and torso being covered in ink, similar to her character’s appearance in the film.
Carmen Electra

Carmen Electra perfectly balanced sizzle and sweetness in 2017 with this lovely gown worn to the Annual Race To Erase MS Gala in Beverly Hills. The model and Baywatch actress rocked every aspect of the ensemble, from the low neckline with sheer paneling, to the high side slit and black, sequin-embroidered waist. Electra won extra style points for a flawless ballerina bun, and ink-black nails and eye makeup that perfectly matched her midriff’s dark detailing.
Salma Hayek

Actress Salma Hayek rocked her gorgeous curves at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards. From films like Fools Rush In and the Grown Ups movies to The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Eternals, Hayek has a wide variety of roles under her belt. Our favorite detail about this dress (other than the stunning shade of blue on the top) is its little keyhole cutout section in the torso with just the tiniest of rhinestone buckles above it.
Kellie Pickler

Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images
Country music sensation Kellie Pickler practically had us singing with admiration over this daring black dress worn to the 2014 CMA Awards in Nashville. The singer-songwriter’s dark, sheer gown was decorated with playful, heavily beaded appliques placed in all the right spots, and the dress definitely fit the fashion trifecta of flirty, fun, and flattering.
Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga’s wardrobe often runs the gamut between classy and controversial. For the 2019 Met Gala, the popstar and A Star Is Born actress wore a total of 4 different outfits, starting with a giant pink ballgown and ending her series of playful costume changes with this all-black brassiere and fishnets look.
Victoria Justice

Former Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice went for the perfect blend of fun, flirty, and from the looks of it, comfortable with this two-piece ensemble worn to the 2019 Badgley Mischka Swimwear Show in Miami. The actress and singer knows how to rock a pair of heels with a pair of parachute pants like no other, and her long necklace gave the bikini top an extra ounce of charm.
Brie Larson

Actress Brie Larson wowed on the red carpet with this dreamy sky blue gown at the 2016 Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles. We especially love how the Room and Captain Marvel star’s dress played with twisted and knotted fabric, and how the cloth draped so gracefully in folds across her torso. The matte silver heels were also understated gorgeousness.
Halle Berry

Acting tough as Storm in the X-Men franchise and as one of the Bond girls in Die Another Day, actress Halle Berry has many other sides. At the 2018 NAACP Image Awards, Berry showed off her flirty side in this lacey black and red dress with sheer paneling all along the legs.
Olivia Wilde

Actress Olivia Wilde attended the 2016 Oscars in this bold white gown with a neckline that ended at her waist. Known for her roles in Tron: Legacy, Cowboys & Aliens, and the hit TV series House, the other remarkable part of Wilde’s outfit was that the dress was actually backless, making the gown even more alluring and skin-showing.
Kerry Washington

Scandal actress Kerry Washington stole the show at the 2020 Golden Globe Awards with this daring number. We love the star’s bold pairing of a high slitted skirt with a blazer and no undershirt. However, the best part about the look had to be the gorgeous body jewelry strung across Washington’s torso, which fully completed the outfit.
Scarlett Johansson

Known as Black Widow in the Marvel Avengers films, actress Scarlett Johansson wore this bold and playful pantsuit at a 2019 event in London celebrating the Avengers: Endgame premiere. We like the outfit’s uneven sleeves and neckline, though we can’t help but wonder if Johansson’s left side was cold throughout the event?
Britney Spears

With this glittery, playful dress, singer-songwriter Britney Spears must have wowed everyone in attendance at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. The pop star made her outfit even more fun and fashionable with the addition of sparkly gold heels and a colorfully-dyed ponytail.
Mila Kunis

Former That ’70s Show star Mila Kunis brought out her bad side at the 2017 STX Entertainment premiere of A Bad Moms Christmas in Westwood, California, wearing this flirty black dress with a high side slit and low, off-the-shoulder sleeves. We especially love the spiky edging the Black Swan actress wore along her sleeves and neckline, and how her pointed toe heels tied in with the overall edgy, smoldering look.
Khloé Kardashian

Model and media personality Khloé Kardashian was ready for a fun night out when she wore this black two-piece outfit, paired with a jacket and knee-high boots, to the 2019 grand opening party of the Mohegan Sun ultra-lounge, novelle, in Uncasville, Connecticut. We especially love how Khloé’s simple diamond necklaces stand out from the rest of the look.
Amanda Seyfried

Les Misérables and Mamma Mia! actress Amanda Seyfried brought the shock and the awe in this bold red ballgown at the 2021 Oscars. If you look closely, you’ll note that Seyfried’s neckline was the most impressive part of the dress. Not only was the neckline fairly low, but the dress didn’t have any sleeves or straps to hold it up, meaning that it had to be fitted relatively snug on Seyfried’s frame to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions.
Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney Kardashian’s designer clearly outdid themself with this one-of-a-kind black evening gown, which the media personality wore to the 2016 Angel Ball in New York City. The neckline was simple, yet oh-so-flattering, and the long cutouts on both sides of the legs were incredibly unique and impressive. The ruffles throughout also provided an excellent overall texture, adding a playful charm to the dress without making it stuffy or drab.
Eva Mendes

Actress Eva Mendes left us breathless in this empire waist gown she wore to the 2006 Met Gala. The ball’s theme was Anglomania, with many celebs’ outfits playing on various British fashion trends throughout history, and The Other Guys and Hitch star followed suit. Mendes’ Regency era-inspired gown may have been missing the period’s telltale puffed sleeves and delicate gloves, but her low neckline with the puffed collar was iconic.
Zoë Kravitz

As the daughter of singer Lenny Kravitz, Zoë Kravitz had some famous shoes to fill, though in this case, she opted for a pair of heels. Pictured here at the 2018 Met Gala, the singer and Divergent actress was stunning in a black lace dress with just one sleeve, a very high slit, and a pair of gorgeously large and over-the-top earrings.
Zoe Saldana

While on the red carpet at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival, actress Zoe Saldana was stunning in this shimmering red dress with a flattering v neckline and a high side slit. Saldana is known for her roles in the Avatar, Star Trek, and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises.
Kendall Jenner

Few words come to mind other than “wow” when we look back at this incredibly breathtaking gown Kendall Jenner wore to the 2021 Met Gala in New York. The socialite’s see-through, skin-tone dress was perfectly light and delicate, and the crystal detailing throughout was every jewelry lover’s dream. The thick, bejeweled choker necklace and capped rhinestone sleeves were a bit heavy looking compared to the rest of the gossamer gown, but the rows of gems cascading down Jenner’s torso more than made up for it.
Jennifer Hudson

Singer and Dreamgirls actress Jennifer Hudson left everyone awestruck when arriving in this incredible ensemble at the 2021 BET Awards. We love how her fitted little black dress was cinched with a thick gold belt, and then there was the gorgeous and dramatically long black shawl Hudson draped over her arms that also acted as a dress train. We can’t help but also mention the beautiful high heels that rounded out the look, with gorgeous gold detailing that tied the whole outfit together.
Eva Longoria

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria stunned all on the red carpet during the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. The actress was enchanting in this pale pink off-the-shoulder gown with a high side slit, and the sparkly sections of the dress’ bust and waist were especially flattering when paired with Longoria’s sleek high heels.
Gal Gadot

Known for her roles in the Wonder Woman and Fast & Furious franchises, actress and model Gal Gadot went for this simple yet stunning sparkly black dress at the 2018 Annual Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills. Gadot’s dress was especially sweet given its soft silhouette and swirled, translucent sections on the bodice and legs.
Zendaya

Former Disney Channel star Zendaya is all grown up, as clearly seen here during the 2021 Venice International Film Festival. Zendaya’s skintight gown was gorgeous, but her emerald accessories certainly upped the glamour even more. An actress and singer, Zendaya’s film work includes Dune, The Greatest Showman, and the MCU Spider-Man films.
Anna Kendrick

Singer and actress Anna Kendrick wowed at the 2018 CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards with this fitted and strappy little black dress. Kendrick’s film work includes Into the Woods, A Simple Favor, and the Pitch Perfect franchise. Additionally, the actress has voiced Princess Poppy in the DreamWorks Trolls franchise.
Carrie Underwood

Singer, songwriter, and country music superstar Carrie Underwood rocked the red carpet at the 2018 CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. The former American Idol winner’s dress had gorgeously intricate detailing throughout, and playful see-through sections of fabric in addition to a plunging neckline.
Chrissy Teigen

Model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen was a complete showstopper in this backless black dress at the 2016 American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Teigen’s outfit showed further skin with the two high side slits, though the slit on Teigen’s righthand side, which went up past her waistline, was by far the most daring detail of this dress.
Evangeline Lilly

Former Lost actress Evangeline Lilly was all the buzz at the 2018 LA premiere of Avengers: Infinity War. Lilly, who plays the Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was also in The Hobbit trilogy, channeled her character beautifully in this shimmering gold pantsuit with some gauzy see-through sections and a deep neckline.
Shay Mitchell

Model and Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell wowed attendees at the 2018 Harper’s BAZAAR event, “ICONS By Carine Roitfeld,” when she wore this daring fringe and netted gown. We especially love the darker netting and long fringe near the base of the dress, and the delicate netting on the sleeves. Mitchell’s other TV shows include Dollface and You.
Kylie Jenner

Model, media personality, and businesswoman Kylie Jenner was the ultimate vision in purple at the 2019 Met Gala in New York City. The feathery sleeves and skirt were bold and vibrant, but it was the dress bodice with its gorgeous embroidery and curved neckline that really took observers’ breath away.
Elle Fanning

Actress Elle Fanning was a showstopper in this dramatic black gown at the 2021 LACMA Art+Film Gala. Fanning, known for her roles in the Maleficent films and the TV series, The Great, had an especially interesting look with the inclusion of a large raspberry-colored floral decoration atop one of her sheer shoulders.
Jennifer Aniston

Former Friends star Jennifer Aniston rocked the red carpet at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA with this stunning fitted gown with a low neckline and dangling necklace. Also a producer, some of Aniston’s other works include We’re the Millers, Cake, and the Apple TV series, The Morning Show.
Gwyneth Paltrow

While Iron Man 3 is technically a Disney movie, Gwyneth Paltrow’s dress at the film’s premiere was definitely intended for more mature audiences. From the front, the dress looked fairly formal and reserved, but anytime Paltrow turned to the side, onlookers could see the sheer paneling running up the entire length of the actress’ leg. This dress was definitely business in the front, and party on the sides!
Angelina Jolie

Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie was absolutely breathtaking in this designer black A-line gown on the red carpet at the 2012 Academy Awards in Hollywood. We’re biased, but we believe that the Salt, Maleficent, and Lara Croft star’s gown was pretty Oscar-worthy in its own right.
Jada Pinkett Smith

Red Table Talk host Jada Pinkett Smith was stunning in this sheer and sparkling silver gown at a 2015 screening of husband Will Smith’s film Concussion in Westwood, California. Smith’s various projects include roles in The Matrix films and Gotham TV show, as well as serving as an executive producer on King Richard.
Cameron Diaz

Actress and model Cameron Diaz rocked the 2014 premiere of her film The Other Woman in Westwood, California, in this little black dress with a deep heart-shaped neckline. Cameron’s other films include There’s Something About Mary, Charlie’s Angels, The Mask, and The Holiday.
Beyoncé

Queen Bey looked like glittering, popstar royalty in this sheer number at the 2015 Met Gala. While the designer Givenchy gown didn’t cover up too much, the countless, carefully-placed crystals gave the dress some modesty and plenty of glamour.
Khloé Kardashian

Is it just us, or does it look like Khloé Kardashian walked out of a fairytale with this exquisite, otherworldy gown worn in New York to the 2016 Angel Ball (hosted by Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation For Cancer Research)? The socialite was absolutely radiant in this gauzy gown with branch-like tendrils of crystal beading. Our only suggestion would have been for a softer, more relaxed hairstyle as opposed to Kardashian’s tight, slicked-back do.
Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt attended the 2020 A Quiet Place Part II premiere in New York in this sizzling red leather gown ending in a lacy trim along the skirt. Among Blunt’s other films are The Devil Wears Prada, Edge of Tomorrow, Young Victoria, Jungle Cruise, and Mary Poppins Returns.
Halle Berry

Actress Halle Berry was drop-dead gorgeous at the John Wick: Chapter 3 world premiere in 2019 in New York City. Channeling her on-screen character Sofia’s badass confidence and sense of style, Berry stunned in this sleeveless and fitted, fiery black pantsuit. The outfit’s most impressive feature had to be the neckline, cut low and covered by dark, sheer-paneling that also formed a flattering high collar. Leave it to the former X-Men heroine to make turtlenecks look so glamorous!
Miranda Kerr

Australian model Miranda Kerr was dazzling and dauntless in this fiery red dress worn to the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, California. The former Victoria Secret Angel wore the backless, halter-cut gown perfectly, and few can doubt the impressiveness of the outfit’s barely-there torso for being so bold yet beautiful. The high side slit was a nice additional touch, as were the sparkling stud earrings and silvery clutch.
Selena Gomez

Former Disney Channel star Selena Gomez sported this adventurous, all-black ensemble when honored at Hollywood’s 2017 Billboard Women in Music event. While the actress and singer wore the reverse sweetheart neckline with flawless confidence, it’s the slashed leather pants we’ll be talking about for years to come. And the perfectly paired heels and belt, both with gold embellishments. Simply stunning.
Lupita Nyong’o

Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o took everyone’s breath away at the 2018 Governors Awards in Hollywood (or so we’d like to think, as we weren’t actually there). The Black Panther and 12 Years a Slave star was absolutely enchanting in this shimmering white tasseled gown. We especially love how the layered strands overlapped on the skirt, and the long, elegant draping of the sleeves.
Kourtney Kardashian

Model and media personality Kourtney Kardashian kept things bold and beautiful with this cute little black dress worn to her 2017 PrettyLittleThing launch at Poppy in Los Angeles. The simplicity of the look, with just the heels, dress, and ponytail, is gorgeously timeless.
Jennifer Lopez

J. Lo made fashion history in this green Versace gown at the 2000 Grammy Awards. What makes the jungle print dress with a belly button neckline even more iconic is that the actress and singer has modified and worn the gown multiple times to date, including when she hosted SNL in 2001 and 2019, and at the Versace Women’s Spring-Summer 2020 Fashion Show.
